RTO 1 - Application for Initial Registration or Renewal of Registration
This application form needs to be completed if you are:

  • applying to become a Registered Training Organisation for the first time, or
  • you are currently an RTO and your registration period is due to expire within the next 12 months.

Note: If you are renewing your registration and extending your scope of registration at the same time, this is the appropriate form to complete.

RTO2 - Application for Extension to Scope of Registration
This online form is to be used by existing RTOs who want to if they wish to add qualifications, units of competency or accredited courses to their scope of registration. This form can also be used by RTOs who wish to remove Training Package qualifications, units of competency or accredited courses from their scope of registration at the same time.

This online form is to be used by existing RTOs who wish to remove Training Package qualifications, units of competency or accredited courses from their scope of registration.

RTO3 - Ceasing to operate as a RTO
This proforma needs to be completed by RTOs who are seeking to voluntarily cancel their registration or do not wish to renew their registration as a RTO.

RTO 4 - Notification of Change of RTO Details
This online proforma needs to be completed by RTOs when there has been any changes to day to day operations such as change of contact details including address, phone, fax, email, contact person or delivery sites.

RTO 5 - Interstate or offshore Delivery
RTOs must notify the registering body within 21 calendar days of commencing operations outside of South Australia (including off-shore).  The RTO must also notify the registering body within 3 months of ceasing operations outside of South Australia.  Your details will be amended on the NTIS and the relevant State and/or Territories in which you are operating will be notified.

RTO 6 - Partnership Arrangements
The Guidelines for RTOs under the Training and Skills Development Act (2003) state that if an RTO enters into an agreement with an organisation to deliver training and assessment services for nationally recognised qualifications or Statements of Attainment, then the RTO must notify the Department within 30 days of commencing or ceasing this agreement.

The Guidelines for RTOs under the Training and Skills Development Act (2003) require RTOs to provide information annually to assist the Department in meeting RTO operations and scheduling audits.

Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) Logo – Specifications
RTO's in South Australia who require a copy of the NRT Logo can request a copy from Quality Directorate by phoning 08 8226 3065.

RTO 10 - Application to have Registration Services provided by NARA
Training providers that are operating in more than one state or territory may elect to have their registration managed by the National Audit and Registration Agency within TVET Australia Pty Ltd. This agency has delegated authority from the SA Training and Skills Commission to manage the registration of training organisations that have their principal place of business in South Australia.
