AVETMISS reporting
Training Organisations that receive government funding for VET training have national and state/territory reporting obligations. The Australian Vocational Education and Training Management Information Statistical Standard (AVETMISS) is a nationally agreed set of rules that facilitates the collection of consistent and accurate information on the vocational education and training (VET) sector. For further information please visit the AVETMISS support page on the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) website.
For a complete overview of the South Australia reporting and collection process please refer to the South Australian VET Data Reporting Guidelines.
In South Australia training organisations are required to report their VET training activity which has been undertaken with public funds via the Student Training Enrolment Logistics Application (STELA).

If you are unclear what your reporting obligations are with respect to your particular funding arrangements please discuss this with your contact person in the relevant DFEEST Branch i.e.
User Choice,
SA Works,
Adult and Community Education (ACE) or contact Planning and Evaluation Directorate in DFEEST on (08) 8207 2533.
National Non-Financial Audit (Invalid Enrolment Audit)
Every year NCVER conducts audits of AVETMISS data submitted by selecting a sample of RTOs' student records from the previous year's data. Then NCVER, in conjunction with DFEEST, undertakes an audit of paper-based records to verify the reported training.
